VERTIGO
Positional vertigo (PV) is a frequent consequence of head
trauma. The tiny ear stones (otoconia) in the semi-circular
canals of the inner ear, get crushed into debris, which swishes
back and forth when the patient suddenly turns his head, causing
dizziness and nausea, even vomiting. Medications such as Meclizine
(Antivert) can quiet the symptoms without curing the problem.
Nausea may also be a problem with migraine. Good anti-nausea
drugs are compazine and reglan. |
