PTOSIS [ back to Glossary Index ]
Ptosis is the drooping of a bodily structure as a result of nervous system dysfunction. Drooping of the upper eyelid is caused by paralysis of the levator palpebrae superioris. Amongst our clients, we have seen a few cases of temporary ptosis lasting 1-2 weeks. It can occur in the absence of a concussion, as when it accompanies a severe migraine attack.
