ADYNAMIA  [ back to Glossary Index ]
Adynamia is a disorder of motivation following traumatic injury to the frontal lobes, often the dorso-lateral portion. It is characterized by inertia, indifference and placidity. A patient with adynamia not only needs a verbal push to initiate activity, but needs repeated reminders to keep going in order to complete tasks.
